Teak furniture covers

Use a cover that breathes or is vented, Kingsley Bate says, so moisture does not sit against the wood. Country Casual makes its covers in breathable, water resistant polyester and says to store them completely dry. Anderson says to cover the furniture or move it to a sheltered spot.

The frames stay out, teak deep seating, chaise lounges and teak coffee tables included. Only the Sunbrella cushions come in.

Short answers

Teak in winter questions

The long ones go to help@teakpatiostore.com.

Can teak be left outdoors permanently

Yes. Anderson Teak says teak can stay outdoors all year; it weathers to silver gray without losing strength. Cushions are the part to bring in.

Should I cover teak furniture in winter

It is optional. If you do, use a cover that breathes or is vented, per Kingsley Bate, and put it on clean, dry furniture.

Where should I store teak furniture in winter

Somewhere dry and unheated, such as a garage or shed, Kingsley Bate says. Clean and dry the teak first and tighten the hardware by hand in spring.

Does freezing crack teak

Kingsley Bate says teak withstands snow and freezing, yet Anderson and Kingsley Bate both exclude freeze damage from their warranties. Small cosmetic cracks in the end grain, called checks, are a separate thing that opens as wood wets and dries.
